District 2, or also called Thao Dien is the biggest community of expats but the atmosphere here is very peaceful and relaxation. The only drawback in this area is the flood sometimes happen in the middle of wet season but if you are well – prepared, everything will be just fine.
Since District 2 population is continue to grow with a significant amount, many restaurants are opened to serve the customer. However, due to the fact that mostly people lived here are well – paid, the price may be a little bit higher, but including better services.
While street food and snack stalls are also an inextricable part of a Vietnamese dining experience, sometimes you need a fabulous restaurant that combines expertly prepared dishes with a pleasant ambiance, stunning views and diligent service. Here are some restaurant I think worth making a pass by to taste its dishes.
This restaurant is one of the most famous places in District 2 because of its outstanding riverside view and modern design. However, the price is higher than other restaurants, as expected for the scenery.

A Simple Place
This is one of the best restaurants that serve Mexican food in Saigon. The restaurant is hidden in Thao Dien area with a reasonable price. If you want to taste a taco or a burrito, make a visit here to enjoy delicious dishes. Remember, this place is closed on Sunday.

This place is perfect for dating with a romantic outdoor seating area, especially in the evening. The restaurant located in small alleyway, suitable for hideaway for an evening meal with your companion. Be careful of small pools in MAD house, there are cases that man fell into the pool while he was too engrossed in his smart phone.

More than a decade ago, Mekong Merchant was founded and they are one of the first business explore the potential of District 2. This restaurant is impeccable for a large group since there are big benches outdoor, suitable for playing board games or meet out for a chit – chat. I recommend the salad, give it a try and you won’t be regret.

This place is one of the prettiest restaurant in Thao Dien, There are peeling wooden shutters, half-rolled bamboo blinds and down-lit benches as well as Buddhist relics for decoration in the restaurant. One drawback is the service may slower than other places but the food is both excellent and healthy.
